The Wien is Laco's full-lume take on the classic B-Uhr pilot watch. Where most pilot watches use lume only on the hands and markers, the Wien goes further. The entire dial is rendered in SuperLuminova C3, giving you a watch that glows comprehensively in low light rather than partially. The Type B dial layout follows the original Luftwaffe specification: minute scale around the outer ring, hour scale on the inner circle, arrow at 12 o'clock for quick orientation. The 39mm dark sandblasted stainless steel case carries the FL23883 engraving on the 9 o'clock side. Power comes from the Laco 200 which is a Sellita SW200-1 elaboré running at 28,800 bph with 26 jewels, hacking, hand-winding, and approximately 38 hours of power reserve. It ships on a black calf leather strap with aviation-style rivets.

Our Take

The Wien 39 is the answer to a specific question: what does a historically faithful pilot watch look like when you take the lume seriously? Most B-Uhr homages put lume on the hands and call it done. Laco went back to the original design intent, which is what these watches were built for. Cockpit use, in low light, and made the entire dial glow. The result is a watch that's genuinely easier to read in the dark than almost anything else at this price. The 39mm case is the sweet spot for a pilot watch on a smaller wrist, and the elaboré-grade SW200-1 running underneath is the an upgraded movement compared to our other Laco models.
