About Smallseconds

The watch hobby has a snobbery problem. I found that out firsthand when I walked into a watch store here in the Pacific Northwest, asked a few beginner questions, and left feeling like an idiot. Nobody should feel that way about something they're genuinely excited about.

That's why I started Smallseconds. The goal was simple: create a place where anyone, from total beginners to seasoned collectors, could get honest and straightforward watch reviews without the condescension.

I review watches across the full spectrum. Brands I sell and plenty I don't. The majority of what I cover has nothing to do with my store. I'm not a pay-to-play review service and never will be. If a watch doesn't impress me, I say so.

The watches I sell are the ones I genuinely recommend to friends and family. They offer value. I carry Islander, Laco, RZE, and Waldan because after testing a lot of watches, these are the brands I keep coming back to for quality, value, and integrity at their price points. Nothing ends up in the store just to fill shelf space.

If you ever have questions about a watch I sell, one I don't, or just where to start, reach out. That's exactly what this place is for.
