Since 1925, Laco has been crafting precision timepieces that honor the legacy of WWII-era Flieger watches. We carry Laco because their commitment to heritage and quality makes them a perfect fit for those who appreciate historically inspired, well-built timepieces.
The Laco Augsburg 42 takes the classic Type A Flieger design and scales it up for those who want more wrist presence without sacrificing any of the authenticity that makes this lineup worth buying. Behind the historic dial, the same German craftsmanship and aviation heritage that defined the 39mm version, just with a bolder footprint. All watches come with 2 year warranty through Laco.

Our Take
The Augsburg 42 is the same honest, no-nonsense flieger as the 39, just wearing it more confidently. The larger case fills the wrist with the kind of presence that pilot watches were originally designed to have, and at 42mm it still stops well short of the oversized territory that makes a lot of modern pilot watches unwearable off the cockpit. The Type A dial scales naturally and the proportions stay right, the legibility improves, and the riveted leather strap anchors the whole thing with the kind of period-correct detail that matters to people who know what they're looking at. If you've worn 40mm+ watches before and know it suits you, this is the Augsburg to get.
Who This Watch Is For
- Buyers who prefer a more commanding wrist presence and know from experience that 39mm reads small on their wrist
- Anyone coming from a modern 40-42mm daily wearer who wants the transition to feel natural rather than like a compromise
- Collectors who appreciate that the larger case is actually closer to the original WWII-era Flieger dimensions. This is the more historically proportioned of the two
- People comparing this to the Augsburg 39: if you're genuinely unsure about size, start with the 39. If you already know you wear bigger watches, don't talk yourself out of this one
