Islander is the watch brand of Long Island Watch, one of the most respected independent watch retailers in the enthusiast community. They design watches specifically for people who know what they want. They're well-spec'd, honestly priced, and built without compromise. We carry Islander because they represent exactly the kind of value that watch enthusiasts actually get excited about.
Named after the historic maritime village on the North Shore of Long Island, the Northport is built around one of the most distinctive dial treatments in the Islander catalog. The white ripple dial is embossed with a pattern inspired by the surface of the Long Island Sound. It's a physical texture pressed into the dial surface that catches and scatters light as the wrist moves. On white, the effect is clean and almost luminous in the way that textured white dials in Swiss watches costing multiples more achieve it. Polished silver applied markers sit proud of the rippled surface, generously filled with SuperLuminova for low-light legibility. The bezel insert is sapphire and carries lume, ensuring dial and bezel stay readable simultaneously in the dark.

Our Take
The white ripple Northport is the most versatile diver in the Islander lineup. Where the ocean blue gradient version reads as a dedicated water watch, the white dial has enough visual neutrality to transition from the pool to a dinner table without announcing itself as dive gear first. The ripple texture is what keeps it from reading flat -- a plain white dial at this size would disappear, but the embossed surface catches light differently at every angle and gives the dial real presence. Polished silver applied markers on a textured white dial is a combination that shows up in watches costing significantly more, and at $449 with a Miyota 9015, sapphire bezel insert, and 200 meters of water resistance, the ISL-360 justifies its price without needing to explain itself.
Who This Watch Is For
- The buyer who wants a diver that works everywhere. White ripple on a brushed steel case reads cleaner and more versatile than most divers. This is the watch you wear to a dive and then to dinner without changing it.
- The dial texture buyer. The ripple emboss is a physical surface treatment that photographs poorly and wears beautifully. If you've seen it in person on the ISL-195 and wanted it in a cleaner color, this is it.
- The hi-beat buyer at a real price. The Miyota 9015 at 28,800 bph produces a sweep that most buyers notice immediately and don't want to give up. At $449 with this dial and these specs, it's the best-value hi-beat diver in the catalog.
- The smaller-wrist diver who wants presence. 40.5mm and 12.5mm thick with negative endlinks is genuinely wearable for wrists that find most dive watches too imposing. The white dial adds visual scale without adding physical size.
