Islander is the watch brand of Long Island Watch, one of the most respected independent watch retailers in the enthusiast community. They design watches specifically for people who know what they want. They're well-spec'd, honestly priced, and built without compromise. We carry Islander because they represent exactly the kind of value that watch enthusiasts actually get excited about.
Named after the historic maritime village on the North Shore of Long Island, the Northport is built around one of the most distinctive dial treatments in the Islander catalog. The white ripple dial is embossed with a pattern inspired by the surface of the Long Island Sound. It's a physical texture pressed into the dial surface that catches and scatters light as the wrist moves. On white, the effect is clean and almost luminous in the way that textured white dials in Swiss watches costing multiples more achieve it. Polished silver applied markers sit proud of the rippled surface, generously filled with SuperLuminova for low-light legibility. The bezel insert is sapphire and carries lume, ensuring dial and bezel stay readable simultaneously in the dark.

Our Take
The khaki-to-white Northport is the one we'd reach for most naturally if we already owned dive watches and field watches and wanted something that bridges both. The gradient reads earthy and warm rather than aquatic, which changes how the watch fits into a rotation. It's at home on a NATO strap alongside a field watch collection as much as it is on a bracelet as a legitimate 200-meter diver. The ripple texture keeps it from reading flat, and the warm-to-neutral gradient catches light in a way that shifts through the day. Same Miyota 9015 and sapphire bezel insert as the other Northport variants, same case and bracelet, same $449. The only variable is the dial, and this one is the most interesting of the three to look at across different lighting conditions.
Who This Watch Is For
- The field watch and dive watch buyer who wants one piece to cover both. The khaki-to-white gradient reads field watch when it wants to and dive watch when it needs to. If you're tired of choosing between the two vocabularies, the ISL-361 doesn't ask you to.
- The buyer who wants the Northport in the warmest color story. Ocean blue reads cold and clean, white reads neutral, khaki reads warm. If your other watches lean earthy and muted, this is the Northport that fits alongside them.
- The hi-beat buyer who wants texture. The Miyota 9015 sweep at 28,800 bph is genuinely distinctive, and the ripple dial gives you something to look at every time you check the time. Both details reward daily wear more than most watches at this price.
- The strap experimenter. A khaki-to-white gradient on a brushed steel case is one of the more strap-friendly color combinations in the catalog. Tan leather, olive nylon, or natural canvas all work. The negative endlinks mean the bracelet transitions cleanly too.
